How it works
From selfie to routine in seconds
Four simple steps. No dermatologist appointment, no guesswork — just a clear read on your skin and what to do about it.
- 1
Scan
Take a front-camera selfie inside the oval guide. Your photo is downscaled and sent over an encrypted connection — then instantly discarded.
- 2
Score
An AI vision model rates 8 skin markers from 0–100, plus one overall score and a letter-style grade.
- 3
Routine
Clair builds a personalised AM/PM routine of 4–6 affordable, over-the-counter products aimed at your weakest markers.
- 4
Track
Re-scan weekly to see trends and per-marker deltas. Gentle morning, evening, and weekly-scan reminders keep you on it.
The 8 markers
Eight reads on your skin, one clear picture
Scored 0–100 · higher is better
Hydration
How plump and moisture-rich your skin looks.
Texture
Overall smoothness and evenness of the surface.
Radiance
Natural glow and luminosity.
Acne
Visible breakouts and blemishes — higher means clearer.
Fine lines
Early lines around eyes and mouth — higher means fewer.
Pores
How refined and tight your pores appear.
Pigmentation
Evenness of tone and dark spots — higher means more even.
Redness
Visible irritation and flushing — higher means calmer.
Privacy-first
Your photo never leaves the moment.
Most skin apps quietly keep your face. Clair was built the opposite way: the selfie is analysed and then it's gone. This isn't a setting you turn on — it's how Clair works.
Analysed in the moment
Your selfie lives only inside a single analysis request. It's read in memory and discarded the instant your scores come back — never written to disk.
Never stored, never trained on
Not on our servers, not in our logs, and never added to an AI training set. The photo simply doesn't stick around.
Processed in the EU
Your account data and our analysis functions run in the European Union (europe-west1), under appropriate safeguards.
Only your scores are saved
We keep the numbers — your eight markers and overall score — so you can track progress over time. Nothing more.

Is Clair a medical diagnosis?
No. Clair gives cosmetic skin-appearance scores for self-tracking. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or provide medical advice. AI estimates can be inaccurate — for any skin-health concern, see a dermatologist.
Where do my photos go?
Nowhere. Your selfie is sent over an encrypted connection, analysed in memory, and immediately discarded. It is never written to disk, never stored on our servers, never logged, and never used to train AI models. Only your numeric scores are saved.
How accurate is it?
Clair applies a consistent AI rubric to every scan, which makes it useful for tracking change over time. It's an estimate of appearance, not a clinical measurement, and can be inaccurate — it is never a substitute for a dermatologist.
How much does it cost?
Your first skin scan is free. After that, scanning requires Clair Pro: €9.99 per week, or €119.99 per year (about €2.31/week — save 77%). There is no free trial.
How do I cancel?
Clair Pro is billed through your Apple ID. Cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Clair. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
How often can I scan?
Your first scan is free. With Clair Pro you can scan once per week — the cadence built for tracking real, visible change.
What devices does Clair support?
Clair is an iPhone app running on iOS, and uses the front camera for scanning.
How do I delete my data?
Open Clair → Profile → Delete account to permanently remove your profile, scan history, and recommendations. Your scan photos were never stored, so there's nothing to delete there.
